One of my "post release" goals of Campaign 1814 is to include a "battlepack" of scenarios. This pack will be put up on the SDC. Why? Because that way Rich and John will not have to answer questions on these scenarios. A "Read-Me" text file will be included in the set and a caveat on the website will tell the user that they are my products and that any issues with them should NOT be reported to the John Tiller Software Support. An email address where I can be reached for comment will be included.

I love the Leipzig game but one problem with it is that it has a huge amount of files in the main folder. This battle pack will be optional and will have its own folder that will be part of the main folder of the game. It will be called "Battlepack_1" appropriately.

The user would be welcome to move the files into the main folder to make it easier to start up a game. They could do this with selective scenarios. A scenario list will be included (and will be sent to Dominik as well for inclusion in the database).

What can you expect in the Battlepack?

1. Large map scenarios.
2. 15 minute versions of the scenarios (in the main folder) that came with the game.
3. Cavalry regiment versions of the scenarios (in the main folder) that came with the game.
4. Several more what-if situations for some of the battles.

I am doing this to help cut down on Rich Hamilton's time for support. I will be sending him the list and anytime a person sends him a question on one of the scenarios (missing supply wagon, units not facing right way) he will just pass it along to me.

The scenarios will all have "BP1" in front of the file name and scenario title making it easy for him to note that they are part of the Battlepack.

This was my answer to the dilemma I had concerning the various extras I added into Leipzig. Thus I can put these together in the next six to eight months and release the pack at that time. A subsequent battle pack for Leipzig also is eventually going to be released. Again, it will be optional for the players.

Release of the Battlepack will get the widest possible coverage. Steve Trauth has a good email list and usually posts links on the major websites too. If not I will help out ...
