Gentlemen Officers:
It would seem that the dastardly French Commandos attached to the AT&T Brigade have succeeded in cutting my headquarters’ communications at a time when there seems to be much afoot in the club. It appears that their mischief was more by chance than the result of any brilliant strategy to impair my communications. Apparently the brigade was in need of new tent stakes due to the Continental Blockade and, seeing the signaling rods in plain view, decided to retrieve them from the tower, break them into smaller pieces, and distribute them amongst their brigade. Sorry buggers.
I am told that a replacement rod system will be delivered by next Wednesday at the latest. I am hoping it will arrive sooner and have firmly conveyed that message to the officers in charge. In the meantime, if you need me, just yell very loudly. Colin, that goes double for you as New Zealand is a very, very long way from Georgia.
My apologies, fellows. My responses will be limited at best until I can get the phone company to fix the lines that they screwed up last Tuesday.
Yeah, I know, everybody is smiling and saying "Thank goodness for that much needed reprieve! Peace and quiet at last!!" Well enjoy it while you can because I do intend to return as soon as possible.
