Historically, Cossacks' worth was strategically, not tactically ... raiding supplies, stragglers, etc.

I know it's really hard to simulate that in the engine, but in the really long, big map scenarios have you considered assigning VPs to Supply Points? That would give the players something else to work with while marching about.

There are 10 SPs per Stacking Point, so assigning 10 per Stack Point equals 1 VP lost per SP lost, perhaps you could make it 1 VP per Stacking Point reducing the individual SP lost only costing .1 VP. ... and the value could vary depending on scenario specifics.

Yes, 300 SPs equals 30 VPs if you asign 1VP/1SP. Because of that play balance goes out the window - determining the victory levels would become that much more complex.

I am considering building a "Raid" campaign for the Spring 1813 that the Allies (the AI is not a good attacker. The Allied player would try and keep his force intact until the end of the campaign but if he wins his force will grow. If he loses they would diminish.

I shy away from having Supply Points as VPs. Just too difficult to determine the victory levels for me. It is complex enough as it is. The usual equation is:

1. Determine VPs for both force sizes.

2. Add in a factor for troops that are reinforcements.

3. Determine length of scenario.

4. Determine Victory Levels based on the above.

Here is another thing that will toss your victory levels out the window: Victory Points for Officer Casualties optional rule.

I mean, how can I, as a Scenario Designer, determine how many leaders will be lost per side? Capture doubles the VPs too. That is randomly determined for melees (automatic of course for a runover).

I have a complex enough "Designer-Life" without adding in supply wagons too.

Now where is that West Front Manual so I can look up some M4 Sherman entry dates ...

Anyone have a West Front Manual they want to sell?
