Greetings fellow officers!

This is a continuation of the conversations begun in the threads Allies and Divisional Tournaments.

Specifically, I would like to discuss the use of rules in the tournament(s).

In our club it is evident that there are many players who incorporate house rules such as MOE for an increased measure of realism; as well as plenty of players who prefer only the standard Optional Rules as found in the game menu. And then there are those who like to employ an even further body of governing principles than that of MOE, such an example would be the R&H House Rules (if you are unfamiliar with this I will be glad to send you a copy).

Please feel free to drop by my table here in the common room, (the scribe will record your vote), and add your voice to the discussion.

Helga! Pitchers of ale and flagons of wine here please!

There is nothing like voting and talking to work up a strong thirst in battle hardened veterans.

Regards,

Todd I think its worth noting the difference between the 10min and 15min moves. For me I will play embedded melee with 15min moves as per MOE but with the modern titles I am happy to play no house rules especially as many things have been changed for the better in the later titles. Not the least of which is the change in VP cost of infantry and cavalry which greatly improves realism.
Just my thoughts.

Ah, General Knox, salute!

Your point is very good concerning the differences between the 15 and 10 minute turns, as well as the manner in which the more recent games have incorporated some changes which very much reduce the demand by many for the use of house rules.

Thank you sir, for dropping in, and sharing your thoughts.
Now, that would be a bottle of Margaux for you, is it not?

As is so often the case, I fully agree with these future Marechals of France. Now, if I could only somehow convince them to pursue a more reasonable course than the immersion of the world in war..... Sigh!

Hey, you two aren't going to drink that whole bottle alone are you?

Gentlemen,
the small R&H scenario, that I promised you, is ready; this is a 12 turns NRC based variant of the Historical Battle of Pruzhany, August 8th,1812. Advance Guards action.
Tormasov's 3rd Observation Army against Schwarcenberg's XII and Reynier's VII th Corpses. Pretty balanced.
Now, I'm finishing a full 56 turns variant of the battle scenario.
