Gentlemen of both the LGA and the Coalition,

I am in search of some decent Napoleonic War era titles. Something newer that maybe you've stumbled across that has really interested you? In Particular, I am in search of some good tactical titles from the 1809 and 1812 Campaigns. Please feel free to post whatever has struck your fancy!! Thanks!

Regards.

John Gill wrote some excellent books on 1809 Campaign. For 1812 check out Alexander Mikaberidze books and Russia Against Napoleon: The True Story of the Campaigns of War and Peace by Dominic Lieven.

If you want a lot of OOB stuff check out F. Loraine Petre and George Nafziger, enjoy :D

I want to 2nd Ed's post. The Gill books have an astounding amount of detail on the battalion level of operational movements and the battles themselves. For the Eckmulh campaing, you see why the Austrians could never get enought troops to the right place to put up a real fight.

I have read Mikaberidze's book on Borodino and find it to be a perfect example of how the history of a battle should be written. Great book.

Leiven is a wealth of information for the 1812-1814 period, although it is less tactical in focus.
