At their encampment, the Tirailleurs et Dragons! heartily welcome the newest member of their warrior band, Col Roy Purcell, of the 3rd Brig, 1st Div, V Corps.

The valiant Col Purcell is even now making his way towards L'Armee d'Allemagne, to help lead the fight against a rumored Austrian insurgency (the soon to be started custom designed R&H Eckmuhl in One Battle scenario).

Hail & well met, sir!

Regards,

Insurgency? The Austrian Royal House is the most honarable in Europe. The Russian Czar is a regicide, the Prussian King is still searching for his backbone, and the British King answers to Parliament. Where I am from, that is a brand of cheap cigarettes...And your Napoleon? Please. Austrians do not engage in insurgency. We enlighten...

Feldmarschall Pfleck, salute!

Good sir, a glass of wine with me if you will?

I do agree with your general assessment of your fellow Coalition partners, up to the cheap cigarettes.

But as for, Napoleon? Please, it was L'Empereur who wrested control of the Italian provinces away from their foreign masters, and established enlightened republics.

Indeed, it was this Napoleon who has forced your master to change his moniker, from Holy Roman Emperor to just plain old Emperor of Austria... Really...

Russia may need to educate thier Austrian colleagues on how to talk about fellow Allies.

Col Dumas, salute!

Join me for a drink, sir? The wine is flowing and Helga is smiling :) .

I see you are seeking an Allied force to meet you upon the hallowed fields of Austerlitz.
One would think that surely the Haplessburghers could find some officers to defend their sacred honor.

Then again, perhaps not...

Soon I will be maneuvering upon the battle map of Eckmuhl vs a Russian combat team.

I hope that someone will come to the defense of the Osterreich dynasty, and pick up your challenge.

Enlighten indeed! If enlighten means to lighten ones load. Napoleon and his minions liberated many a famous painting and much treasure...As for our Russian Allies, Mr. Amos, what were your observations at the surrender ceremony at Tilsit?

Our armistice at Tilsit didn't result in our Tsar losing lands and title, so it was a peace amongst equals, not one of dictated peace between victor and vanquished.

Feldmarschall, salute!

How is your drink, sir?

Yes, I wonder, how was it that all those famous paintings ended up in the keeping of the various Borghese, Machiavelli's, and certain Pontif's (I truly tread lightly here, as this can be a touchy subject, and one I do not wish to inflame...). And, as everyone who reads their histories and the Almanac de Gotha knows, the Haplessburgher dynasty was founded upon a certain robber baron who sat perched a top a hill that dominated the local trade routes.

All I am really saying, is that in the sphere of war, the boiling cauldron is stirred by might.

Certainly, I am no Marechal of L'Empereur yet, but I do strive mightily in the lists, and have answered the clarion challenge of the foes of my realm. I simply wonder, who is going to defend upon the fields of Austerlitz against the III Corps Artillery?

All I can say is, I said hey hey hey ya,down to Mississippi down to New Orleans, they got Miss Moss hanging from a wide oak tree! Now all them panting has nothing to do with bring men on the battle field you guys can talk all day and still mean nothing. If you can get three or more other garcons to follow you or be with you in battle that all that counts in a club not what some ole dude did thousand of years ago. I said down the Mississippi to New Orleans, were every southern gal is a Mississippi Queen.

Where every Southern gal is a Mississippi Queen, down the Mississippi, down to New Orleans! I said hey hey a hey yeah. I said hey hey a hey yeah. I said hey, a hey hey yeah! I said hey, a hey hey yeah!

I grew up listening to Neil Diamond among many, many others. I used to play guitar and sing his songs back in the day. :P :P :P

And Uberleutnant Whalen, have no fear, the "wretched French Empire" is but a short lived, passing fancy. Every time I think of it, I am reminded of 'Ozymandias'. Shelley could have just as easily titled the poem 'Bonaparte'. As it was published in 1818, perhaps it actually was the demise of the diminutive Corsican that inpsired the poet as opposed to a colossal statue of Ramesses.
