Gentlemen Officers of the NWC:

I ventured over to the section of the DoR System tonight that contains the games where one officer is waiting for the opposing officer to confirm the End Game Result. Honestly, I rarely ever go to that section, as I feel that it is the duty of all officers to honorably confirm their game results without me having to check on them. I would also expect officers who are awaiting a confirmation by thier opponent for an inordinate amount of time to make me aware of the non-response so that I can override the confirmation and enter the game into all officer's records.

Well, guess what I found....

I discovered seventeen games dating all the way back to May 2010 in which one of the officers, generally the vanquished one, did not confirm the game so that his opponent could gain the credit. Tsk, tsk, gentlemen. That is not how true gentlemen officers should conduct their business.

OK, so here is the deal. Any of you fellows who are 'waiting for Godot' need only send me an email with a request that I confirm the game for you so that you may recieve the OBD Points, Victories, Medals, or whatever else is earned from the completion of your battles. Please be involved. I am fully willing to help those who are willing to help me do so.

Ah, so it is! I have actually never read the work, which is both a blessing in my mind and may serve as a somewhat feeble excuse for my error.

I was, however, compelled to read Madame Bovary, an experience which I hope never to repeat in my lifetime.

Thank you for the correction, Andy. When I actually paused to consider it, Waiting On Godot sounds totally wrong in any case. American slang taking root in my ever aging form I am afraid to say.

And... in French (since Becket wrote it in French first :mrgreen: ) it was En attendant Godot

I would suggest you try Salammbô (an historical novel) by Flaubert instead of madame Bovary. There is more action :mrgreen: :mrgreen: It is set during the 1st Punic War.

The novel's beginning is famous and starts like that :

"It was at Megara, a suburb of Carthage, in the gardens of Hamilcar, that the soldiers whom he had commanded in Sicily were holding a great feast to celebrate the anniversary of the Battle of Eryx. The master was absent, their numbers were large, and accordingly they ate and drank in perfect freedom."

Masi, Montesori, Rat but like all things it a matter of personal per-consideration, I am not what the LGA would want in their Ole Guard because of my ways and manners. Nap said if he had two General Vandamm he would hang one and advance the other but they have only one of me. Some said I should recruit my own countrymen but at last they rather play Madden 2012 then fight with the LGA ole garcons.
