Post subject:  Bandwidth issues

The boxnet account that my mods are stored on seems to have run out of bandwidth at the end of last month. I'm viewing it as another trick or treat event along with the advent of Hurricane Sandy which has dumped over six feet of water in the basement of my building.

As of this morning, usage of the monthly bandwidth allotment is only 8%, which means that everything should be readily accessible through the normal links.

If the problem persists at the end of each month, I will try to come up with another arrangement.

In the meantime, my own personal computer (with all of my working files) is temporarily cut off from the internet. It may take a week or two to get things back to normal.

Just so that every one here is aware of this, my mods are not static affairs and are always works in progress. When I have an internet connection to my computer (not to mention running water for showers and coffee) the mods are constantly undergoing slight changes. What usually happens is that as I'm working on a new version of something I'll develop some new feature and add it back into the other mods. That's why it's helpful to keep an eye on the version numbers of things.

For general information, what I was working on before the power went off was a new version of Campaign 1814. I'm redrawing and repainting the 3D bases (as well as coming out with a new version of leafless French winter trees), so I had just started to extend the new color scheme for the bases to my existing mods when the hurricane hit.

The gameplan for when things return to normal looks something like this:

I'll finish and announce the release of the latest version of the Campaign 1814 mod. While I'm doing that there will be touch-ups to the other mods that will probably all get posted at the same time.

After 1814 I'll circle back and look at Wagram. The mod already exists in an earlier version on other websites, but the 3D figures needed to be rearranged and overhauled even before the latest official patch came out. With the current patch the 3D figures need even more work, and the unit images for the unit box need more work as well.

Until the official Eckmuhl patch comes out the Eckmuhl mod (which can also be found on other websites such as the Wargamer) will work pretty well. But once that patch is released the mod will probably develop some weird purple gaps in the 3D figures for French Allies, and some of the unit images and flags will be wrong as well (not to mention that the chamois-colored uniforms of the Emperor's canaries need to be recolored because they are currently canary yellow).

I also intend to produce alternate versions of the Wagram and Eckmuhl mods that are aligned with Bill's mod(s), but before that happens there will be a master posting with links to all of the mods gathered together in one place.

Assuming, of course, that my apartment building can get power, running water, and an internet connection.

Phillippe,

Exceeding monthly bandwidth is the problem Ezjax experiences as well. I think you'll need to investigate other options, or just accept it. :(
