Gentlemen

I know the answer will be "go to HPS Support" but I like to post occasionally just to let people know I am still alive and fighting and its not as if the Board is overflowing :)
Just updated Waterloo and an existing game Hypo v9 has produced English Weather, it tells me Clear with visability 40 but only Art. will fire as it's too damp?
Not come across this one before so Watson I suspect the Butler, sorry I mean patch did it!
Also there seems to be an annoying habit of not showing as many unit in the Hex Info Area as is possible because the terrain box has moved from the end/top to a mid point

I've quickly checked this. Yes, version 1.03 is fine. In 1.04 there are indeed the results as described whether or not the Expansion Pack is added. Clearly a problem with the pdt I'd say and this may apply to other games. I've checked a few scenarios and so far those work fine.

I've sent Clifton the 1.03 patch already.

Probably the main advantages to 1.04 are the ability to melee cavalry in obstructed terrain; and the elimination of xxx and yyy files automatically (not listed). I assume there are other changes not documented as well, such as skirmishers in a stack no longer preventing a flank melee bonus etc.

Gentlemen
As usual a very rapid reponse from HPS :
Hi Jim,

The game thing is likely caused by a re-read of the PDT file...will
have to look into that later when I have the time, but creating
another entry in the pdt should clear the weather. Would not be an
issue in a new game, just an ongoing match.

As for the hex info area, that was a change John implemented to the
entire series and I don't think he'll undo it. Depending on your
screen size and resolution the number of units will vary. I can
display all units because I run on a large display, but smaller ones will not.

Regards,
Rich

Jim et al.

It happens if the musket fire modifier is set to 0 instead of any other figure

In order t check that:
1. Open the .scn file with Notepad or Wordpad. In the 9th line you will see the name of pdt file used.
2. Copy the pdt file with that name to a safe place.
3. Open the pdt file with Notepad or Wordpad. Scroll down untill you see lines like that:

1 1813 8 23 9 0 100 12 125 75 75 -60 0 Rain/Mud

This is from one of the 1813 scenarios we made in H&R. Here two 75 stand for arty and musket fire effectiveness. If memory helps first come guns and then muskets. You'll see one of them set to 0. It's measured in percent.
4. Make it 100. Save the file.
5. Enjoy!

Or it's possible to wait a bit while the problem is resolved by the team.

Gentlemen

A brief update
a) it appears the odd weather effects only the hypo scn even when you start a game with the 1.04 patch installed.
b) The problem with Hex Info Area only comes to light if you have started a game in 1.03 then update to 1.04

Anton

The line in 1815 for the hypo games look like this
1 1815 6 15 0 0 100 40 100 100 0 0 0 Clear
I assume the number highlighted green are the % chance of firing?

Well does that mean if a person goes back to 1.03 then he can resume his Hypo games?
