Preußische Armee Names Interim Commander

It is not often that we arrive at the juncture we are at and a decision must be made by the Prussian Armee General Staff. But our beloved Generalfeldmarschall Stefan GroßPrinz Reuter von Wahlstadt has been missing in action since last June a number of months after having some issues that he needed to take time away to handle. Multiple attempts have been made to try to reach him, but all riders have come back in vain.

A Succession of Command Agreement was made with certain members of the General Staff back in early December and the plan that was approved was placed before the whole General Staff last weekend and agreed to by a simple majority needed.

as the new

Interim Oberbefehlshaber der Preußische Armee (Interim Commander of the Prussian Army)

becoming permanent upon December 31, 2013, if no contact with Stefan is made.

This will ensure that Stefan has an appropriate amount of time to recover and let us know his whereabouts. He has served as the Commander of the Prussian Army for 11 years now and it is felt he deserves a significant amount of time to respond, especially due to the situation of his absence. We don't wish to act with haste. Ian will be accorded full authority over the Armee in the interim.

Ian is the longest serving member of the Armee. He came to the Club just shortly after it was formed and has never left. He has a keen interest in Prussian history, is involved in gaming and proactive in interactions with me over the years. It is felt he will make a good Army Commander, leading the Prussian Armee into the next chapter of Armee history.

I personally nominated him and spoke with him about it.

This month marks the 11th year anniversary of Stefan assuming command in 2002. To my knowledge he is the longest serving Army Commander in the history of the Club.

Ian will be only the fourth Commander of the Prussian Armee since the Club was founded. A testament to the leadership and dedication of the Prussian Command and the Prussian system.
