Post subject:  Cabinet Minutes

In an effort to keep the membership better informed about the operations of the NWC Cabinet, our Cabinet Secretary, Al Kling, will start publishing monthly minutes of the Cabinet Proceedings starting with January 2013. I expect that the first installment will be posted next week.

We would welcome any comments from the membership as we roll out this new program so that we may better serve your needs.

This is an other good idea even these minutes make me think to the Nixon's attitude during the Watergate (when the Congress would like to see his archives, Nixon choosed one of his friend to expose the contain of his archives in conection with the Watergate affair)
So I must confess that this is the second time I agree with you. May be I will become a supporter soon  My past critics were not personal but against a policy that I see as an attempt to concentrate too much power in the President hands. Despite I consider you are the responsible of Paco and Chuck's leaving, I know that you work for the benefit of the club Thanks for your efforts.

Best regards

Nice to see this being done again. It was done years back whenever something important was discussed, but with the massive more amount of the work the Cabinet does these days, it is probably a good idea.... 8)

I have to admit that I was not aware that this had been done in the past. I have never seen such minutes, but if you will point me to them Scott, I will see if there is anything we can use based on an existing example. I am sure that Al's format will be fine, but I am always looking for the very best ideas.

As far as the Cabinet work is concerned, I have never seen any "massive amount of work". Most of the time, we just sit around drinking brandy, smoking expensive cigars, lie about our courageous battlefield exploits and watch girls. Basically, the same things that the rest of you Napoleonic icons do. I think most of the members are going to be rather disappointed at the lack of excitement, but I guess we do have our cameo moments. The process of revising the Club Rules is bound to be entertaining, but the membership will be an integral part of that procedure in any case.

We should have the January Minutes to you this week. The first round is the hardest, and Al really has a lot of commitments on his plate.

I think Scott might be confusing the minutes with the Newsletters

No was referring to informational posts about what the Cabinet was up to from many years past. I or John would do them from time to time. They are out there, but I have no idea how to find them.....again I am sure it is nothing noteworthy as not much happened with the Cabinet in the old days.

The Cabinet in the past two years, as far as I am aware has been far busier than the past four to five years prior.....

I also caution against changing the rules and adding in too much bureaucracy.....depending on what is proposed, you potentially add extra burdens on already small staffs that support each army. Simple rules, makes a simple Club.....

Cool. I look forward to what Al has to offer.

Is it a surprise for you Scott ? No of course. When we were in the Cabinet, all the armies HQ made most of the work. The Cabinet had just some little problem to resolve. Now it's quite different as the Cabinet acts like a super HQ.

Amazing Scott, I agree with you.
