The most detailed are the works of George Nafziger, of course: Lutzen & Bautzen. Napoleon's Spring Campaign of 1813 Napoleon at Dresden. The Battles of August 1813 Napoleon at Leipzig. The Battle of Nations 1813 Very helpful also: Scott Bowden. Napoleon's Grande Armee of 1813 F.Lorraine Petre. Napoleon's Last Campaign in Germany 1813 |

Salute! Last Fall I read a book I enjoyed very much, Russia Against Napoleon, by Dominic Lieven. It covers the War of 1812 in great detail, and then carries on into the 1813-14 Campaigns. The latter are more skimpy, in comparison to the first half of the book, but, the chapter on the Battle of Kulm was dramatically detailed, from strategy to unit tactics/actions. I felt like I was right there with the soldiers struggling through the mountain passes. The book was published in 2009, by Viking Press. Regards, |

I agree with the previous posts - Napoleon's Last German Campaign and Leipzig are excellent books (Petre and Maude are both good Napoleonic historians ) Napoleon's Campaigns by Chandler also covers the Germsn Campaigns If you want less expensive Kindle editions are good (but you lose the maps) or Osprey Publishing put out a Campaign Series and there versions of campaigns are condnesed but they have good OOB information |
