The Haka is totally sacred and a thing of deep meaning to New Zealanders. Its also a great honour in Maori culture to have one done at you. Not something our opponents always appreciate. Not surprisingly I guess ![]() ![]() Go the mighty All Blacks!!! Kia Kaha! |

Richard Bradshaw wrote: ... or after he has had a robust bowl of prunes ..... ![]() Many a mocking bird has been crushed at the foot of an All Black ruck. I recall a famous story by the famous Welshman Gareth Edwards one of the greatest rugby players of all time. He was playing his first game for Cardiff against the touring All Blacks. As he stood watching them standing in a lineout he saw Pinetree Meads, Kel Tremain, Waka Nathan, Ken Gray and others and looked on with some trepidation. A ruck quickly formed and he felt a huge hand grab him and pull him in supported with the words "come in here boy" He reported the effect was like a huge combine harvester spewing bodies out the back and as he joined the carnage he lost his Jersey as it was rucked from his bloodied back. Such was his introduction to All Black rugby. ![]() But don't worry we are not passionate about our team much down here...no not at all. |

Haka is very nice, and I will always remember the French answer to it in 2007... the Old Garde waiting for the assault ![]() ![]() in English http://youtu.be/nDHkbvZrlJE on French TV http://youtu.be/pAdzuVDLu_w |

aarrrrgghhhh 2007 ![]() ![]() We do admire the French above all other teams here though. In the RWC final they joined hands and formed an arrow head and marched towards the Haka. The French really do understand it well. It was such a great moment in sport. BTW we just beat them 3-0 ![]() |
