Post subject:  So who won?

Being the "not so bright" Rat that I am, I just have to ask, Who Won the latest Tournament?

I heard a rumor that it was the Allies. You couldn't tell though if that was true or not because the leaders of the Allies are no where to be seen or heard. No bravado announcements have been made, no medals issued! I wonder if the good old Allied leadership is even aware that there are folks who are waiting for their hard won medals and maybe even a nice "Job well done" from the commanders! What has it been? A month? Two months? As I have heard so made times in my latter years, someone is out searching for that illusive "round tuit"!

Come on guys, get the lead out and do something!

Looking back at my post on the subject, nearly two months now is the actual answer.

If the Coalition Army Commanders do not rectify this by the weekend, I will get the job done myself in their stead. This is exactly the type of problem that I hope to avoid with the creation of a Webmaster Pool System, but it may simply mean that others will end up doing the work.

As for me (The Mad Hanoverian that is)....

Congratulations to all of the Coalition Officers for their Magnificent Victory over the Grossly Overrated Armies of France in the Multi-Player Division of the 2012 SON Tournament which retained the Army Bragging Rights in their Rightful Place in our Club for the coming year!

God Save the Freaking King!!!

"Get the lead out and do something" really Scott? really? 2 1/2 years in the club and you are still a captain and you are telling people who are much more active than you to do something. Maybe you should take your own advice and play a few more games.
Sad to say but because of the policies and attitude of the current President of the clubs a lot of high ranking Prussians have left the club, leaving a vacuum in our army. I guess i will be next since i decided not to take part in the ill conceived muster that was forced upon the armies without any consultation

Actually in all fairness most of those high ranking members have been inactive - for several years in some cases - and simply didn't reply to the muster. Almost all of the active members have responded. This is the case for all the armies, see Al's thread. People move on, it has nothing whatsoever to do with policies or personalities.

Andy, with all due respect, you are wrong. i wasn't referring to Stefan Reuter or some of the other old timers who either moved on from the club or who have had health problems and passed away for all we know.Being privvy to the private emails that went around the prussian high command i think i know a little bit more about the situation in the Prussian army and why people left than you do.

It is too bad we blame someone who is doing a great job, because we disagree and then we run off, while many new and old friends have fun and battle on...

Most people leave because they have lost interest in Napoleonic gaming, and/or found something more interesting to them. The diehard Napoleonic Era Fantatics are still here! And all the armies of the NWC have many officers who have not battled all that much, moved up the ranks because our system is not balanced and others have not. Just because you move up the ranks, does not make you a good leader in the NWC.

A leader, leads by example, a lot of hard work, and communicates with the members! I believe that some of members do not appreciate the hard work and interest our current President does for the NWC. I do not know anything about past Presidents, but I know this one works hard, and yes I do not always agree with him, none the less he is doing an outstanding job.

So let us all be members of the NWC and officers in individual armies second!

Battle On...

Dear David,

Yes, still a Captain after all those years. I would rather have fun and earn the points honestly than be given points for just being a name on a roster.

Yes David, I mustered! Did you? Yes David, I have three games going at this time. 2 Multiplayer and one single. Please feel free to contact any of my opponents or partners, they will hopefully say that even though "The Rat" is not the brightest or the best player out there, he does try to have fun and does play games. They would be Todd Schmidgall, Jeff Bardon, Jim Hall and Ed Blackburn and others.

David, since you are feeling sorry for yourself and have decided to also leave, I wish you the very best. I am sure you will be missed! It was a shame we never had a chance to do battle in a MP game against the Frogs. Good luck!

Field Marshall Moss,

Yes, I definitely feel that I am swimming in the deep end of the tank but also have the privilege and opportunity to learn and have fun!

To stick my head in the door & say "hi"....In case anyone noticed we are in the period now where you can profess your support for the current or desire for change. The election season started yesterday.... :) Not causing issue, only simply letting folks know who might not be aware.

Who said i was going anywhere? So now you have to be a die hard NWC fanatic to stay around? ..LOL.. Some of us belong to and hold positions of responsibility in several clubs. Which i guess gives us a different view on how things could be done. being dictated to is not a good thing. The armies should be free to run themselves, it's what gives each army it's own unique flavor. If we let a President and a few of his cronies dictate to the armies we might as well go to a ladder system which sucks the life out of the armies.

I really do hope you aren't accusing me of being a crony to anyone  . Your attitude strikes me as a little confrontational. Either engage in useful dialogue or shut up. Play games and enjoy. Stand for Cabinet if you want to positively contribute to the club. Not just sit on the sidelines and whine.

As I say, all of the active members of the club, Prussians included, have already mustered.

I think maybe it's time this topic was locked. It's become irrelevant and unpleasant.

Yes, I agree with Andy and feel it is time to take a break from this topic.
