Gentlemen Officers of the NWC: Communication is one of the most important aspects of human relations, and one of the hardest goals to truly achieve. As our club is a social organizatition of like-minded gamers scattered throughout the world, it is an even more complex goal for us. I would like to present to you a technology that can help us do this. The best part is, it will be free to you for the entire, first year! One of our members has set up a site to allow us to actually talk to each other over our computers. This is actual voice communication, just as you would have with a phone. The difference being that it utilizes the internet to facilitate the communication. The member in question has asked to remain anonymous, but he has, from his own pocket, paid for an annual site that will allow up to fifteen of our members to talk to one another at the same time. Various rooms have been set up to facilitate the simultaneous conversations. There is one, large common room that everyone can freely access, several smaller rooms in which more private conversations can be held, and three password protected rooms similar to our Cabinet Forum, Pierre's Tavern, and the Coaltion Arms. The site he is using is called Teamspeak. If any of you are interested in tapping into this new resource, just send me an email and I will respond with the items you need to set this up on your computers. I cannot simply post them here as this is a publically accessed forum, and we do need to restrict the use of this new site to our members. I have been giving this some thought, and see great potential in this new resource. My specific plans are to gather thirteen Coalition officers together for a panel discussion in which Marechals Knox and Bardon will disclose all of their tactial secrets, and teach us how to repeatedly dismantle LGA forces on our cybernetic battlefields. Of course, I first need to convince these venerable Marechals to participate. A sticky wicket to be sure, but rest assured, I am working on it. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I get all the Marechals to beat me then I try to find a Sous Lt to play against and turn the tables. Part 1 is working well - Part 2 is not so easy ![]() |

Both Al and Scott are set up and functioning now. As Al said, this is very easy to do, and it works very well. Tony, would you like to give it a try? Oh, and BTW, a French Marechal is nothing more than a Sous Lieutenant who wears more expensive lingerie under his uniform. |

Salute! nelmsm wrote: MCJones1810 wrote: Oh, and BTW, a French Marechal is nothing more than a Sous Lieutenant who wears more expensive lingerie under his uniform. ......and they give them a stick to play with. ![]() Hmm, what have we here? inquired the Chevalier... He was examining a collection of sticks found in the Campaign quarters of L'Empereur's Marechals... He read some of the inscriptions found upon them... names from the pages of glorious martial history... Castiglione, Eckmuhl, Valmy, Montebello, Rivoli, to mention but a very few. Stout sticks these, he mused. And upon the matter of the thread, this seems like a wonderful step forward for the club. Although I am unable at the moment to partake of this gift, some day I hope to do so. Regards, |

Cheeky bastards! First they invent the French kiss and now the pine man substitute! Next they will want to give women the right to vote. This is truly a Holy War we embark on!!! |

Fear not my Spanish brother. There is no danger here, for it is well known that pine is a 'soft' wood. ![]() ![]() ![]() Coalition 'sticks' are made of oak. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

To come back to topic: Interesting to see that a technique well known and used intensively by many groups of players has now been discovered here ![]() Some years ago had been member of an RtCW clan later a CoD clan, participation in championships. We had training once a week. Using Teamspeak was necessary to discuss during training. And of course when used it when we had a match. Met our opponents in the main room, then both teams moved to their seperate rooms and match was started. Later met at main room again to talk a bit after fighting. Easy handling, and nice way to communicate. Like Skype without video. In here I would like to use it for communication with the allied HQ. So please send all information necessary to join; thank you. But now, does anyone like to come with me to a seperate room? Got a fresh deck of cards and some coins that want to be put on the table. We might get back to main room later. |
