Another evening in the Rhine Tavern. Lots of uniforms of different colors, lots of noise, lots of smoke, hardly any free chair or table.

The major of the King´s German Legion stood up on his chair to overlook the crowd and be well seen. He has taken a bugler´s horn with him and raised it to his lips. Blowing a short signal all noise stopped as being cut off with a single hit. Faces turned round, surprized, amused or angry about the interruption. The major grinned, satisfied of his suprizing action. Then he became serious and said with a smile towards a freshly promoted officer:

"Gentlemen, sorry to interrupt you. Let Helga fill up your glasses to salute an officer of the King´s German Legion who has been promoted today. 1st Lieutenant Tony Barrett, congratulations to your new rank! Well done. Gentlemen, a toast: This is to you, Mr. Barrett, 1st Lieutenant!"

Ah, another Hanoveian rising through the ranks. It warms this old Jager's heart, it does. Congratulations, Tony! :P :P :P

I actually forgot to be more excited, as it totally skipped my mind...that this is THE Tony Barrett, who I am having the luxury of playing a great battle in NRC with. A true test of courage as the Russians are facing a sure and confident French foe. Many good warriors have already died in this yet short contest and the young Lieutenant has equipped himself well. His commanders should be proud! :)

The contest will no doubt go down to the bitter end but this King's German Legion officer is far from a mere Hanoverian! He is a solid leader....after all I got my start many, many years ago in the KGL, a long forgotten fact by many I am sure.... :)

There is no such thing as a "mere Hanoverian" in the NWC. Certainly not in my eyes. :wink: :mrgreen: 8)

<Salute>

Thank you for all your warm words.

Now enough of the celebration back to the fighting :-)

Well, in keeping with his normal habit, Scott has told a partial truth at least. All Hanoverians are boisterous, but certainly none are average. :roll: :wink: :mrgreen:

In keeping with his normal habits, Mark overestimates his E morale Hanoverians.... :mrgreen: Which yes, would not make them average.... 8)

The 1st Hanoverian Brigade, which is what I command in the NWC OOB is composed of Elite (Morale B) troops, the Cumberland Hussars being the sole exception. :wink: :P :mrgreen:

It is quite bold to accuse my Hanoverians of being E Morale Conscripts given the vast difference in thier performance on the field as opposed to your own. :o :shock: :wink:

Scott <Salute>

Just to remind you this Hanoverian is commanding the Russian Army.

The Russians live to die for their motherland.

Hope your troops can swim :twisted:

As the overall Hanoverian representative, just liked I represented all of Prussia, regardless of OOB inclusion, you have a fairly sad lot...also the game OOB's most are C units....but that's beyond the point.

The major point being is I almost fought your beloved Lord Moss to a Draw and for a fair portion of our game carried the lead. Of course, as usual I lost it in the final turns....but um, me thinks it is only a matter of time... ;) Plus no one is all that shocked when I lose, I don't even think John or Al look up from their papers when I report in anymore... ;) :P But when I get a victory, oh well that is cause for jubilation and celebration! :D But even better when your mentor and beloved hero barely escapes, well all should take notice.... :P Even more so when a man such as yourself scars up in a defeat, well, well.....now that is something for the ages is it not....just like my victories! :P
