Blitz - a similar site.

Am playing on blitz against Ron - played Shevardino Redoubt as Russian and beat him, Played as French - got beaten by him. I think I must have trained him too well on the first encounter ;-)

Goes to show some senario's do favour the allies, or does it?

Salute!

Thank you for making a post like this Lieutenant Barrett. :)

Without knowing specific details of the battle, the strategies and tactics employed, skill levels of the combatants, etc, one cannot say whether this shows the bias of a given scenario.

However, at the level of your own personal experience it certainly should give you plenty of information to work with.

It is a very good thing to mirror battle once n' awhile. 8)

Not only will you learn about a scenario from both side's view (likely strategies, etc), but one can learn a lot about the different attributes of the opposing units (best way to use them, how one might expect an opponent to use them, etc).

The ones I am looking at are definitely French. Where in that painting do you see a dead Russian soldier? I admit that I did not enlarge the painting and study every detail, so there may be an injured Russian or two lying about, but at a glance, I saw mostly French casualties.

Todd,

Doing the same with Hector Lopez. I let him show me how the French can win at Borodino and now I am letting him show me how the Russians can win at Borodino. ;-)

Salute!

Lieutenant Barrett, join me at my table and break our fast together this morn.

Pouring coffee and spreading some jam upon his croissant, L'Chevalier speaks:

When one has the fortune to encounter upon the battle maps an opponent who displays the finest skills of the art of war one should be taking all of the notes one can - so that through the fiery cauldron of such experience he will at later date be able to visit upon some other foe (if not yet the same one) the lessons he has learned.

The hardest part is to still be able to see what your opponent is actually doing due to the blood tha is steaming into your eyes and obscuring your view.

I have heard there wea a nice sunrise at Austerlitz that day, or so Marechal Knox has told me. I couldn't actually see it myself, well, you know...

...on account of all of my own blood.

If you are ever doomed to suffer defeat, Lieutenant Barrett, surrender the battle, but never lose the lesson. :P
