Gentlemen of the Cabinet, I believe the capacity for forgiveness and understanding exists in all of us. I also believe that many of us(myself included) can have a stubborn streak especially when they feel they have been wronged. I don't deny that I have deserved some of the charges/complaints against me, I can get a bit over the top when it comes to banter. I guess I expected others to accept the give and take more than they were willing or have thicker skins than they do...oh well. I try to stick up for people when I feel they are being picked on. I also try to stand up for myself when I think things are unfair. I thought I had asked in a civil manner about the complaint process, but no one seems to want to answer that question. I can't force them to but it is a bit frustrating and perplexing why I can't get an answer.

So what I am trying to say is that I forgive the members of the Cabinet for their actions/inactions. We all make mistakes. I will behave myself in the Tavern as best as I can

Let me also be the first to apologize here in front of the membership for my sarcastic, petty postings.

Paul, I know it took a lot for you to say that. You are not the only one who has ever gotten over the top. Thank you for stepping up and I offer you my own apology for my part in past exhanges. I hope we can all put it behind us and get back to playing the games and having a great club. :D

Yes, good on you! Thanks. It requires strength of character to write that.

Very noble of you Paul. :) Don't worry I've been accused of being a lot of things both in the forums and in emails.

You want to know something about the Club....it is isn't own beast, it really is. Time changes all sorts of things and no matter how much impact you try to leave on the Club, every new generation of members has their own ideas and every generation changes what the previous have done. Everyone eventually becomes a faceless name that a few old timers give homages to over drinks in the tavern, that the new members have no connection with or idea why the old timers do it. :D In a way it is kind of like the army. Always speaking of the past and the leaders, who's chairs are empty, that those who knew them, remember them. Stick around long enough and you'll see what you did disappear yourself.

So morale of the story, if you don't agree with the present going on's, don't worry, stick around long enough, their work will change by new members one day too, who see them as faceless names. :)

For me at least, there is comfort in that and the anonymity too.... ;) I don't have to be in the center of it all the time.... :)

Gents,

Basically the gist of it is over time what one does in the Club fades away and is changed by those who come later on. :) Sometimes the newer members respect what has been done in the past and sometimes they don't....it all depends. But when you think about it, unless you talked with a guy who was your friend in the Club, when that person is gone or not as active as they used to be, there is no real bond that newer members form with that person. While those who had formed a bond still recall them well. Hence why sometimes there is loyalty to less active people or the memory of those who are no longer members and the legacy they left behind. People sometimes defend that legacy/friendship, which is where some of this conflict comes from I think.

Just a thought. :)

Yes, point taken Scott, sounds better now I'm sober.

Sorry Mike. Hang around a bit or better still head to the new subforum  From the annexe you will hear shouts, breaking glass and furniture being moved around whilst the rest have a quiet drink in the bar. There are no bouncers on the door. You are free to enter and leave. Please leave your weapons at the door as you leave the annexe though :)
