Maréchal John Corbin, Commandant of the LGA and Cabinet Member has left the NWC with an email I received on March 26, 2014 simple stating the following: "I am leaving the NWC". I received no further communications from him. Maréchal Corbin is honored on the Hotel d'Invalides Impériale Web Page. We will proceed with the election to replace the LGA CnC as soon as the current election for Public Relations Officer has been completed. Battle On... |

Could we have a page within the club remembering all the CiC and Army commanders and cabinet members (on both sides) we had? Without memory of what happened in the club I feel that the younger members will not be able to understand the history of the club. |

i think that is something we may be able to do. I will need a history of sorts from long time members to bring it to fruition. Email the information to me. Battle On... |

Gentlemen I believe a Role of Honour would be a very appropriate step for those who have served the Club well over a long period and have departed The Fields of Glory. |

Indeed that would be fine, we should remember those that did so much for the club. |

I realize that the years are passing and we have a tendency to forget who did what and when. So it would be nice to have something like a time-line with the leaders who were serving, and it's not just for the French it would be for all club. I know it's a big project but it would be nice to do something before we see more of the old ones leave. |

Thanks for pointing to that page. Maybe instead of a new page we could use that page and expanded it to incorporate the history and achievements of those honored there? |

First, a salute to John. Second, I agree we should have the list of commanders and leaders. As far as French CiC's, there haven't been too many in the 15+ years of the club (in order of service starting with the first LGA CiC):
I am not as well versed on the Allied side. For both, I think it should probably also include the CoA's (what the army commanders used to be called) for the Armee du Nord and the Armee du Rhin as well as the various Coalition armies if it is available. |

Salute! It is always a sad moment when someone leaves the club with nary a word of explanation. I will remember John's leadership of La Grande Armee as an era of transformation among the administration and esprit de corps of our eagles. I thought that he and Al worked very well as a team, and together accomplished much for which they and ourselves can be proud. We never know what will happen from one day to the next: there I was in my guise as L'Chevalier sitting in Pierre's, joined at my table by Marechal's Bardon, Corbin, and General Guegan, drinking and eating, and swapping stories from the fabled past of our immortal ranks... Thanks John for all of your work. I know it had its ups and downs. For those who want to read a little history of the club please refer to the NWC newlsetter. http://www.wargame.ch/wc/nwc/NWCnews.htm I started the first two and thanks to those who continued it. It does provide some good history of the clubs humble beginnings. Me and Steve started the club with Steve getting the French going and me the Allied with Bill stepping in to build it up. Almost 16 years ago. To be that young again 'sigh'. |
