John Corbin has decided to leave his position as French Command In Chief. His account is already deactivated.

I have to say that I am sad to see him leave the club. It's really sad because he did so much for us.

So I would like to thank him for all he did during all those years he spent with us in the club.

A pity to see him go, does he really leave the club or just the position of CiC?

He left the club and has been immediately deactivated on the forum. For sure we can say that the forum management is really effective

Then let's raise a toast to John. Too bad he couldn't get here in time to say a proper good bye himself.

Through the years as chief of staff for the Armee du Rhin, then running the AdR and as chief of staff for the Grande Armee, as CiC and president of the club, John helped create many of the institutions of the club. We often forget all the hard work that has gone into building the club and getting everything in place, but those foundations are at the core of the club and every member continues to benefit from his work. John deserves credit for all his contributions and moreover for the class with which he did it.

Helga, bring out the best you've got in honor of one of the best leaders I have ever had the privilege to serve with.

Cheers!

Yes let's have a drink!

For me it will be a cognac! I need some strong alcohol tonight because it is sad to see him leave like that.

Tonight the drinks are on the Marechals of France who served for and with Marechal Corbin. Salut Marechal Corbin and remember...."don't let the bastards get you down"....a quote from a real military organization, not referring to anyone specific before anyone starts moaning.

Yes, that means that the French Army will need to elect a new CiC/French Army commander

I guess the cheer scope of what he did for the club isn't easy to see but alone all the things mentioned here makes everyone even me as newer member understand that we lost a very valuable person for this club.
And so lets raise the glasses for a toast to our beloved leader and comrade in arms!!!

This is sad news indeed. I'd like to thank John for everything he has done for the club over the years. I hope he might come back again one day...

I've known John the longest I think. 14 years. We joined the old Nirproject club within a week of each other. I owe my rank to the many happy gaming hours we spent together in those early years. Certainly in the last year or so his enthusiasm had waned for the games, as it does to many of us sooner or later. I'll miss him as an opponent on the virtual battlefield. Old soldiers never die however, they merely fade away. He will not be forgotten I'm sure.
