| Post subject: | Preserving the Waterloo battlefield |
There's a posting over at the Wargamer that I haven't had time to read yet, but it seems to be about saving parts of the Waterloo and/or Quatre Bras battlefields from real estate developers. I don't know if those links are safe to click on, but I'll test them from work. If the thing is for real (and it probably is because it has been posted by the editor), it's a lot more deserving of a mass e-mailing than the political nonsense that has been going on here. Time is apparently very short, because e-mails (and bot-creating clicks?) have to be sent in in the next few days. Someone here should take a look at it, and if it's for real, give it maximum publicity. If I find an e-mail about it in my inbox I won't get upset about the invasion of my privacy. Of course, since we're all getting a bit long in the tooth, it's probably appropriate that part of the battlefield is getting turned into an old age home and a parking lot (a certain song by Joni Mitchell comes to mind). |
