I've been re-assembling my games library and I still have my original Waterloo, PtW and NiR discs. I know that they are not compatible with the new Win Vista/7/8+ OS's, but I did also have my originals patched to 32bit versions and burned off on CD years ago. Even they won't work. I can't even install the games to patch them anew as my Win7 laptop won't even try to - so how would one upgrade to 32 bit now? Basically the Battleground discs are only good for drink coasters? I just want to be sure before I throw them out! ![]() I broke down and bought the John Tiller Waterloo campaign so I could play games in the club again, but I have to say, the "newer" games still don't have the visual appeal of the Battleground series. That's a sacrifice to allow for easier modding if I remember, the Battleground maps were painted and the new game maps are made of hex tiles. Anyway, I have more than enough to get me going again: JTS Waterloo JTS Campaign 1814 HPS Wagram HPS Eckmuhl I think I'll put Bautzen on my Christmas list! |

Hey Rob, If you need a Frenchman to show you the place around at Waterloo I will be more than happy to oblige you. ![]() |

@David G.: Alright, I'll look you up after I get a refresher under my belt. Plenty rusty ... @Cezary: Ok, Leipzig then! ![]() ![]() @:Captain Noble: Yeah, I wanted to avoid buying essentially the same game twice, but hey, if I liked them that much right? And I think it's only something like $20 for the series, so it's a steal really. I'll just reduce the Timmies frequency ![]() @Ernie: Nice dental work! |

Rob, Certainly pick up the classic three. Also as a Prussian I endorse Leipzig! Well worth it. Also you'll find more folks to play than Bautzen. Leipzig also has some good smaller sized scenarios too. Also get Waterloo before Bautzen as well. Frenchies are fickle about Bautzen... ![]() |

Rob I recommend that you try some of the mods we have(have we? I think the page is currently down). Currently I use the stuff of Philippe as he is updating them from time to time, just now he updated some mods for the Napoleonic series, take a look here: http://forums.gamesquad.com/showthread. ... eonic-mods That he still updates them should also help with the latest released patches and the patches still to come. |
I just sent in mail on Matrix asking if it works in win 7 I have win 8 and it works great here
The MATRIX Nappy Battleground Series does work in WIN7 (and probably win8). The Matrix Civil War, Battleground also works fine in WIN7. I have both series working and playing on WIN7. ![]() |

Thank you Ernie I have been installing lot of old (and good) games on my computer ,I have no disc drive (so I got got loaned disc drive). I have got all of the John Tiller Nwc games and all of the HPS Nwc games and Matrix Nwc ,I'm stopping with two discs and like Rob I feel a little sadness as it is Jason Patricks disc of Egypt and G Gorsuks disc of Eylau. Is there a way to use them... Does any of you have Jason Patricks mail address... Regards |

I remember play testing it for him and sending in map corrections etc.) Unfortunately, I never did get the Egypt one. I had the Wavre mod too (who did that one?). I'll have to dig that out .... errr well, doesn't really matter does it ![]() Funny someone hasn't come up with an emulator like DOSBox. I've run the old 360 (?) games Gold/Juno/Sword, Velikyie Luki etc on my Win Vista desktop no problem. What a treat to play those old games again. |
