been playing the PC version allot.

The naval aspect of this game is really f...ed up.

might as well not be in the game.

French have zero chance to win a naval battle.

The ground game is interesting..........they may have a game here.

Very difficult to win as Nappy.

Looks interesting.

French navy really wasnt trained well for naval battles. Being blockaded did not allow their naval commanders much practice in sailing. Literally the British could count on a win almost every time. Its why Napoleon dreaded his navy and eventually used a lot of the men for land assignments.

Game balance issues aside, the best explanation of the Napoleonic Navy that I have read was in the book Wars of the French Revolution, that I read a few years back. The author says that basically the entire trained French navy suffered heavy losses and then, with the blockade, the merchant marine was nearly non-existent, and therefore the French navy after 1805 (at the latest) simply lacked trained, experienced sailors. Harbor practice was no replacement for years of high seas experience....

I understand all that........but the game should confine itself to the land campaign and abstract the naval aspect.

In the game, the naval moving around, doing what it does. It's so time consuming and it does not add to the game at all.

If you read the forums on this issue, it's all they talk about. One of developers commented that he constantly brought up this issue, to no avail.

I think its a show stopper and will eventually kill any interest in this game.
