I got 2 right. Evidently I don't care about Lt. Whats his name grabbing an Eagle...And who cares about What's his name anyhow, this is Blucher's greatest victory! |

Sergeant Ewart it was!! Everyone knows that! Lots of paintings of him. I didn't know Burns wrote the poem though, he of Ode To A Haggis fame. I guessed at Byron. He of mad, bad and dangerous to know fame. I was wrong. It wasn't Tennyson, he wrote about the charge of the Light Brigade, turning an embarrassing defeat into a great and glorious episode in British history. I don't recall any questions about the Prussians. Were they present? |

I guessed Byron too. Paintings? what are those? Is there a mobile app for that? The British did not see the Prussians because, while the Brits were hiding in their squares behind some hill, the Prussians were mauling the French flank and rear. |

I agree with Jim Waterloo was a great Prussian victory  Well it was a partnership really. I could also have been one of N's most famous victories against the odds but sadly not to be. I am hoping to get to the battlefield in June this year as part of a business trip up north. I did the quiz and thought it was anglophile. I mean Robert Burns and Waterloo???WTF. They missed the question about the name of Wellington's horse (Copenhagen) and of course his boot size, preferred snuff brand and length of his proboscis. Andy did you write this quiz? I got about 1/2 right I think and did much better on the Austerlitz one. |

If I'd written the quiz I'd not have got 56%. Correct. Waterloo is north of New Zealand. Trick question regarding Copenhagen. He wore horseshoes, not boots. Burns? Anglophile? Egads, given the current political tensions in the UK, that could cause a riot up north! |

Haha Andy yes I did not mean the Burns thing as such was anglophile, maybe its more UKaphile. Hope it stays the UK! I would say it will but we do seem to be in a 'never say never' situation around a rather depressing world. Happy down here though, apart from the remains of Cyclone Debbie giving NZ a big wash out. We had a really bad summer here in Wellington! And by the way Waterloo is a station just down the road from our place.  as well as a place in Belgium of some dubious unconfirmed event.
