My deepest apologies if this is the wrong forum, but I thought members might be interested. I am a collector (on a small but thoughtful scale) of historic firearms. Here is my most recent purchase, a French Modele 1777 Ans IX flintlock, made in 1808 at the St-Etienne armory. There looks to be the name of some bored grumbler stamped into the stock. Per Grande Armee records, two Semettes served in 1808 and after, one in the Guard Artillery (whom I assume did not carry flintlocks) and one in the 12th Line.
