​It is my duty to extend a formal Willkommen to the club and to the field of honor.

​I see from your dispatch that you have been assigned to the 13ème Compagnie du 5ème Régiment d'Artillerie à Pied. While I must regrettably inform you that you serve a Usurper, I cannot deny that the French artillery is a worthy, if noisy, opponent.

​You will find that here at the NWC, the fog of war is thick and the competition fierce. It is good to see fresh officers manning the linstocks of the IV Corps. However, be warned, Monsieur: the Austrian artillery is renowned not just for its caliber, but for its discipline. When the powder smoke rises, make sure your elevation is correct, for we shall not miss.

​I look forward to seeing how your 12-pounders fare against the Emperor’s whitecoats. Until then, check your caissons and enjoy the mess hall.
