Monsieur le Sous-Lieutenant Jean Bernadotte. It is my honor to extend a formal Willkommen to the club. To ride with the Dragoons of the Cavalry Reserve requires not just skill with a cannon, but exceptional Mut (courage). We Austrians know well that the French "Flying Artillery" moves with the speed of a Blitz, dashing forward to unlimber under our very noses. It is a gallant way to fight, Monsieur, but I offer you a word of caution: He who rides fastest often arrives first at the gates of St. Peter. Our batteries may be heavier and slower, but when we find our range, we do not miss. I look forward to seeing if your horsemen can protect your guns when the whitecoats advance. Keep your sabre sharp and your linstock dry. |
