Gentlemen, Opponents, Allies and Friends, I am off to visit the fields of Weissig, Bautzen, Lutzen, Dresden, Leipzig (if time permits), and Colditz castle (thanks for the suggestion B.P.) from tomorrow until the 25th May. Expect no game file returns from me before then, and a picture show sometime after [;)] Regards Mark |

Mark, Sounds like a great time [:D] When I was in Sem, Our dorm was built with an archway that entered into the "quad" (A central square), and my room was on top of that arch. It had a neat plaque dedicated to Gustavus Adolphus and the "other" battle of Luetzen, so I hope you hit both. FML Gary McClellan 1st Jäger Bn Chief of Staff Imperial Austrian Army |

Gary I'm going to show my true ignorance now! The only SEM I ever came across was a Scanning Electorn Microscope !! Is Sem a place or an organisation? I have to confess my knowledge of the 30 years war is next to non-existant. That said I will hopefully learn something of it from my visit. Similarly the battle of Hochkirch for Frederick the Great. The great thing is we have very cheap travel in Europe just now, so to pop back for a weekend to catch anything I miss will be no great expense. I just need to learn to use the new camera !! Sure thing Mark. Enjoy the castle and while you are there imagine David Stirling and his comrades busily planning and escaping from one of the German's supposed escape-proof prison camps. While Stirling didnt get away others did. The countryside is well worth the trip from what I am told. Oberst Wilhelm Peters 2nd Kuirassiers, Reserve Korps, Austrian Army |
