I am going to post this here and in the ACWGC so that it gets a high amount of visibility. Basically, we need some sort of statement that helps folks that join the boards and get board username also realize that they need to: 1. Join the game club too if the reason why they signed up is to play games. This will help the new member get into the flow and avoid messages asking them to join the club first and post "game wanted" messages second. 2. Board profile - the folks in this club do much better if they have a board profile which states their name, rank and club affiliation. Even if it just says "Prussian Army - I Corps" this will help alot. Is it possible to get some sort of text posted for new board users as they sign up? Should we use Dierk's method of board policy and not allow new members to join the boards on the fly - use his method of asking for permission to join the boards? How about some text somewhere on this board that asks new users to post a profile and ask them to join the club too if they are here to play games? It just seems to me that there isnt a link between board users and club members for new folks. They join the user board thinking that they are joining the club. It seems like we should have a better process flow. Note: casual viewers still admitted. I never mind if some history buff drops in to chat. They still should post a profile if they expect us to answer them. From now on I will not answer questions from an anonymous user. I've been a board member for a long time. How can I go re-instating my club membership? When I try to sign up, Campaign Waterloo (which is the only game I own) wasn't a choice. Thanks, Rick Soldat Rick Motko escapee from a penal battalion AdN |

Sure let 'em all become members to play games!! Join the good side...here's the sign up for the Allies: http://www.wargame.org.uk/nwc_allied.htm The French are have got too many people for their own good anyways!! Be sure to join us Prussians though....we are THE BEST!! http://www.prussianarmy.com Oh, BTW I agree with Bill maybe a place for new people to post would be cool...and make a link to the club site more visible...that I think is the main problem!! Hi Rick! Hey, its good to see Le Tondu back! Waterloo may not be on the list yet. Just rejoin and start playing Waterloo. Its definitely going to be on the list eventually. Oberst Wilhelm Peters 2nd Kuirassiers, Reserve Korps, Austrian Army |
