First, congrats Phil! Well done sir and you have done alot to deserve this. Second, on Dierk's comment: http://www.napoleonguide.com/austrian_ranks.htm Good call Dierk. Often you see Kavallerie spelled: Cavalerie Kavalerie and even Cavalery! The Napoleon Guide is pretty trustworthy. Bowden in his 1809 work "Armies on the Danube" used Cavalerie but also noted that the abbreviation could be GdC or GdK. Probably where the error got started as I was the creator of the Austrian army and perhaps noone really looked hard at that rank before.
