I just picked up this book by Martin Boycott-Brown (Casell & Co. 2001) and I was wondering if anybody had read it. It's an account of the 1796 campaign, ending with the Battle of Rivoli. I've just skimmed though it this afternoon but so far it looks interesting.

On a related note, I wonder if HPS is going to go back and give us some of the earlier 'Nappy campaigns.' "Campaign Waterloo" is all very well and good but I'd say we need a Peninsular War Campaign as well as one covering the battles in Italy between 1796 and 1800. Then of course there is the 1805 Campaign and the 1806 campaign. Seems to me that HPS can make themselves very busy in the years to come [:p]

I've read it and I found it to be a wonderful read. It has great maps and is well researched. I enjoyed the author's way of writing too.

While it does have some OOBs, a highly detailed OOB at the battalion level is what I would have preferred.

All in all, its certainly a "keeper".

I'm all for that, particularly the Peninsula Campaign, although my 2nd vote would go to the pre 1800 battles, to include some of the French Revolution, or at least Valmy.
