Are you refering to the % chance of changing formation when an enemy unit is in the threat zone.

Is it between 0 and 99??

Cause that is the % chance of sucessful unit formation change and if it fails the unit could disorder or even rout.

JOhn

If the number is in black, next to the formation symbol, below the image of the unit, it is, as Scott says, the % chance of making a formation change for the unit. Normally it is not shown as the unit has 100% chance of succsessful change, but, if it is in the threat zone of enemy units, this probability is reduced and there is a small adjustment made to the chance for unit quality.

It is covered in Section 5.7 starting on page 24 of Scott's on-line manual - great idea to do this Scott.

Once you have read this John, you will discover ways to use cavalry as a threat to disorder units trying to change formation rather than having to charge with the cavalry. It opens up a whole new dimension to the game

Regards

Mark

Thanks Mark...one of these days I plan to get PTW and NIR done. Then focus on important info inside HPS.
