... And while I am humiliating myself and seeing how Helga has lined the bar with some good Irish Whiskey, I shall make another toast...

this time to Marechal Jeff Bardon who recently bested my Austrians at Sacile and concluded a campaign victory over the Austrian Empire in Eckmuhl. Now I should say that at least I put up several first rate fights in this campaign but in the end, the fighting prowess of M. Bardon was too much for me.

Soooo... please join me in saluting another French Marechal that I have never bested. Cheers to M. Bardon on another fine campaign. Please drink up while I draw some new plans for next year's campaigns.

And a toast to Sir Muddy as well!

After seeing the trouncing of the Bavarians at Landshut, the Army of Germany barely avoided a similar fate at Abensberg before proceeding to overcome a tremendous defense on the hills above Eckmuhl.

There were some fortuitous moments, such as catching a depleted Austrian force on the road to Ratisbon or the flanking movement at Sacile, but even those victories were tempered by Sir Muddy's tenacious defense.

Well fought by an exceptional opponent.
