While I remain high and dry, my ISP is under 4 feet of water. I have internet access but no incoming mail. As a short term fix, please use mlcox1968@hotmail.com for contact.

Happy New Year!

sorry for cross posting

I was wondering how you were doing.

Was also noting that also in Reno to the east and over the mts. they are having terrible flooding as well.

Hang in there Mike!

These are normally higher up than the stream banks or the flooded areas. While the roads wash out on occaision the grapes are higher up on hills. Probably not being affected.

Check for footage of the flooding:

Mail server moved to higher ground. Old email address(es) working fine. That was quicker than expected.

A lot of vines underwater at the moment, but they are dormant and pretty hardy. The crop should be OK. However, the loss of topsoil in places is not good as well as the deposit of several inches of silt in places it does not belong. Some places have had trees and logs crash into vines taking them out. One vineyard owner had a pile of 6 foot stakes washed away. Found them scattered in tree tops sown stream for miles.

Oh and while Sonoma is not a a river, the creeks all ran over turning the streets into creeks. http://www.sonomanews.com/shared-content/gallery/?galleryid=2&albumid=7&mediaid=46

Good luck.

I have been in California when those heavy rains hit. There were times that you let water into your car, when you tried to get out of the car. And that is with water only about 18" deep.
