Evidently there is no right or wrong side when it comes to French vs. British. [:I]

Now with Russians or Austrians of course it's a different deal. [:D]

Ensign Eugene,

Welcome to the NWC.

"Hmmm... Do you suppose there is room on the battlefield for 2 Eugenes?"

Unless the good Marechal Eugene has severely curtailed his baggage train, which runs to several personal waggons of 'essential' materiel, including his vast array of perfumes and scents gathered during many successful campaigns, his extensive catalogue of beautifully tailored and decorated uniforms, most attractive but not necessarily functional in the field and his even more extensive and luxurious collection of personally commissioned headwear, all lavishly accessorised - the answer in my opinion would be No!

That would appear to be a goodly amount of tempting plunder! I note, however, that refreshing spirits are conspicuously absent from this list of vital military supplies. How is the good Marechal able to conduct a proper campaign without copious amounts of inebriants? And playing cards? [8D]

However, gentleman that I am, I am willing to remove the first two letters from my name! No thanks needed, although dispatching a truly foppish wig would be much appreciated.[:p]

Ensign Gene,

"How is the good Marechal able to conduct a proper campaign without copious amounts of inebriants?"

The good Marechal Eugene doesn't carry his own liquor supply on campaign as this would lessen the space available for the essentials previously mentioned. He instead prefers to rely on the generosity of his opponents to provide not only his own but his entire entourage with sufficient quantities of 'inebriants' to last well into the campaign and beyond.

The allied baggage is so slow and the infantry and cavalry so fast in retreat, that it is but a minor inconvenience to sweep up the wagons and their booty. A veritable treasure trove, we all know how much the allied Generals enjoy their comforts.
