I wonder how long it takes to finish a super long senario like 360 turns HPS historical Waterloo? Tonight I'm looking at this MP BG series game I have on hand and man, it's been almost 1.5 year and is still on 12/25 turns or something like that. At this rate it's going to take 3 years LOL [:D] One thing I'm sure is that I'm going to be so proud of myself on the day that's actually done. [^]

Well, obviously it depends on your file turnover rate. [;)]

Two things that may console you. One, a lot of every huge-map campaign scenario (388 turns Waterloo, 534 turns Eckmuhl) is marching, so if you have your columns closed up and organized correctly, it's just a few clicks per turn. If you and your opponent agree to rest at night, these turns pass ever more quickly.

Secondly, it hardly ever takes 4 or 6 days to reach a conclusion. I have completed several huge Eckmuhl games. I believe the longest (with Ed Blackburn) was 175, one with Rich Hamilton was 120 or so, one was over after 65. I am in a Waterloo campaign game that is at turn 100 and even though another major battle is still possible, it will take place in a location where it must decide the campaign, so this can't take forever either. I am in an Eckmuhl MP (4 player) game of 360 turns and we are somewhere around 130 turns and it has been over three years in playing it. We started October 15, 2001? Is that right? That makes it over 4 years???? Maybe that is a typo.[:p]

I begam the campaign scn (388 turns) - single player - on the 05 february 2006.
We are on turn 46, so with an average of one turn per day. At that rate it should take a year, plus one or two months more taking care of any delay (holidays, ...). Unless any surrender ...[:D]
Far faster than BG !!!![8D]

The longest one I have ever played was a 203 turn game of the monster Eckmuhl in one battle scenario. That took us a little over a year and a half, then my opponent had to leave the club due to RL. We still had a lot of fight left in it, but another 100 turns max would have decided it.

I never let the total number of turns derail me from playing a scenario. Just because theya re there doesn't mean I have to play them all. [:)]
