If you know of formations that the armies used during the Napoleonic wars on a brigade and/or regimental level please list them here. Here are a couple that came to mind: Regimental 1. Echelon. 2. Line abreast. 3. Mixed ordre. Brigade 1. Echelon. Not sure if the French used a triangle formation for there regiments. Basically two regiments up and one back. Usage varied by commander of course. And the D'Erlon formation for me doesnt even deserve mention here it was so awful. Prussian brigades per the 1812 regulations used three lines, with the Lights in the first line, Line in the second, grenadiers and more Line in support, cavalry on the flanks. The regiment wasn't really a tactical entity for the most part? Battalions and brigades. <center> D.S. Sounds good Dierk. Any folks out there know how the British formed up? Two lines for brigades? Not looking just for a general usage. A few variations are also helpful.
