Post subject: | Holy Month of October |
Esteemed Comrades & Opponents, The holiest days of the Cuban national religion, The Holy and Apostolic Church of Beisbol, are now upon us. Although my parish, the Boston Red Sox, have been excluded this year from the sacred rites of October[:(], I am nonetheless dutybound to observe the sacred rites of the MLB Divisional Playoffs, the MLB Championship Series and, most sacred of all, the World Series. Alas, since my employer has not yet seen the light and granted me an extended leave of absence so that I may observe the sacred rites unfettered by quotidian cares, I will have to cut back on my gaming over the next few weeks. I will continue to participate in all of my outstanding encounters, but my return rate will be considerably slowed. I remain, Blissfully Yours, Paco Maréchal M. Francisco Palomo Prince d'Essling, Grande Duc d'Abrantes et Comte de Marseille Commandant - Division de Cavalerie de la Vieille Garde ![]() |

You know. This is typical of the Red Sox fans. They GET to win the World Series ONE time so we all can quick having to hear about .... the ... er ... CURSE ... and then they expect their team to be back in post season again and er .... when they dont ... why ... er ... they have to come up with some excuse to watch the playoffs without the Red Sox in them. You would think that it would have become a regular thing by now!!! [:p][:p] Cubs are due to have the curse lifted. Rumor has it that George Steinbrenner and some guys are going to sell the Yanks and buy the Cubs to help them out. And the coach will be .... Pee Wee .... HERMAN! Bill, Yes, I am a Red Sox fan and I am disappointed that their bullpen fell apart in July leading to a horrible end to a season that had begun so gloriously[:(]. But I am, first and foremost, a baseball aficionado. As such, I love watching it played at its highest level, even when my local team didn't happen to be good enough to get into the playoffs this year. [^] BTW, I think the time has come to start recognizing the "Curse of A-Rod"[;)]. Once again he is falling on his overpaid face in crunch time[:D]. Regards, Paco Maréchal M. A-Rod is, but Johnny Damon is pulling them out. Why can't the Red Sox get players like Damon???[:D] Ernie Sands GdD,1e Brig,1eme Div,VI Corps,AdR President, Colonial Campaign Club |

Paco, Fellow Red Sox fan here. Too bad about our collapse in August. Between the bullpen and the injuries it was a tough way to finish the year. Maybe next year. How about them Tigers? Yankee slime can still come back but I do like today's pitching matchup. And how about good ole K-ROD? [:)] Hauptmann Dale Lastowicka Lobkowitz Jager Bn 2nd Division III Armee Korps Austrian Army |

Dale, Yes, how about them Tigers[8D]! Just got done watching Bonderman silence the balyhooed Yankee lineup to clinch the series for the Tigers. I can honestly say that I predicted it, having made a bet last Thursday that the Yankees would lose with a die-hard NY fan in my office (Loser buys the other lunch at a local restaurant). Paco, Ah, yes, there was much joy and rejoicing on my part today. Being a Red Sox fan trapped in upstate NY can be kind of tough. At least it will silence all those Yankee fans at work! Hauptmann Dale Lastowicka Lobkowitz Jager Bn 2nd Division III Armee Korps Austrian Army |
