Post subject:  Age and War

Its interesting how age and war come up in discussions. Bill Peterson and I are passing back and forth our usual banter in our Jena game and the topic of age has come up (his Prussian officers need more rest than mine! LOL).

The Prussians had an OLD General Staff in 1806 but there is one modern power that fought in the second half of the 20th Century that went to war with an army that had battalian officers with the average age of well over 45. Can you name this modern country and what was the war?

Modern warfare is a bit different than the days of Napoleon but nonetheless ... no wonder old men stay at home nowadays and the young men fight the wars.

In the PCC we also discussed the youngest general in WW2 for each army. Who was the youngest French general in 1806 and what was his age? (I dont know the answer ... its just a question that I was pondering)
