I am trying to make a few modifications to Waterloo (1.02) PDT, OOB and scenario files to make Quatre Bras and Ligny more historical.
Just would like to know what each PDT file corresponds to.
There are 5 PDT files. I changed the one called “Waterloo_campaign_new.pdtâ€

You know, it's FAR better if you rename an entire scenario before meddling with all of those files. Now, if you ever want to play a PBEM game, you'll probably have to go and reinstall the entire game, just to be sure you haven't created a conflict with the other guy.

That said, to find the pdt associated with a scenario, open the scenario file in Notepad, and the pdt will be listed there.

Yes, fully agree with Gary. What do you do if you want to play a scenario with someone which uses the file you modified? You end up with different values and a potential cheating allegation.

Always better to COPY the file first and then modify it. Then go into the .scn file you CREATE or COPY and then change the name of the .pdt file to match the COPY of the PDT file you made.

Same goes for the OB files. Copy them first, then change the COPY of the file to what you want.

Captain Tartyshev,

Put another way, by changing the PDT files that came with the game you hamper your ability to play against others.[B)]

A better procedure is to:

Open a scenario you want to modify w/Notepad and take note of the PDT file it uses

Make a copy of the PDT file using a new name

Make whatever changes you want to the new PDT file

Open the scenario you want to play and make a copy of it using a new name

In the new scenario, change the PDT associated with it to your new PDT.
