Just got my copy, looks nice, but three things: Why all the Phantom Leaders... Also in case no one noticed, the Prussian Commander line starts off in the wrong place, it starts at 141 and should start at about 131. It throws all the leader icons out of wack and all historic officers are not with their names, though even still I question the use of some icons with obvious historic links. But still its an OOB check. I was angry at first, thinking that they weren't that dumb, and I'm glad I was wrong. Oh and last question, how come in many scenarios the Prussians do not have ranks with their names while the French do.... Looks fun otherwise, keep up the good work. This was my email answer to Scott earlier today: Scott, First, thanks for buying the game. Yes, alot of work went into this one. Some comments on the leaders: I send off a list to Mark and he finds the "mugs" as I call them and then sends me back a graphics file. While I try and check everything I may have missed it on this one. I will give the game another check and see if there was any error on our part and correct it. As to why I used alot of Phantom leaders: well the sources I had at the time didnt give any name for the brigadier leader. There were also cases where you will see two Prince Henry's I think. This is similar to my rationale for Hiller in the OTV.oob for Wagram: rather than have NO leader at that position and allow the Allies to suffer a disorder recovery loss of a 1 point bonus I added in a leader to that level. So there were alot of Phantom leaders due to a lack of data in my sources. As to the ranks: again, I will look this over. I cant remember why I left them without ranks. Probably just in a rush at one point and didnt give it a thought. I usually (as you know with Eckmuhl and Wagram) put a rank by a name. Just a miss probably. Thanks for the evaluation and comments. I try my best to get these games right. Any input you give is well received and appreciated. (added by edit - I sent an updated OB file to Scott tonite for him to pour over - my apologies to all that I missed this) Regards, Bill Bill Peters HPS Napoleonic Scenario Designer (Eckmuhl, Wagram, Jena-Auerstaedt and ... more to come) Fire and Melee Wargame site |
