Sir You may not remember me as it's been a few years, but you were my instructor way back in Nov/Dec 1999 in Ecole d'Mars. (You were a Major Barry Maunsell with his Ompp-pah-pah Band back then if I recall correctly!) Glad to see you still in NWC, in command of VII Saxon Corps, Armee du Rhin.
Regards

Sir Eugene, you may not remember me but we weaved our way back to our regiments together after a wild night out.

As we parted company it was only then that we realized we were in opposing armies!

The shock of it caused us both to pass out! Which prompted the local officials to lock us up for the evening, lodging expenses paid for by the villagers. In the morning we tossed some dice to see who would get the lone bisquit they tossed us. You won!

Just wanted to know if you wanted to go out for a bisquit! [:D]

The sound of a oomph band playing " It's a long way to tickle Mary" ( to the tune of "Its a long way to Tipperary") can be heard playing softly from just outside the open window of the Tavern. The sweet smell perfume fills the air and in walks Marechal Eugène Comte de la Vendée, Duc de Francfort ect ect and step son to you know who

"Ah Col Smith how well I remember all my students from my time in Ecole d'Mars" Eugène's ADC turns the Marechal towards the officer in question and away from the hat stand in the corner of the darken room to which he had been talking.
" Ah yes thank you my man, now then, it's about time we had some more light in here. I do believe I have some spare candelabras in my travelling caravan outside I will send my man out to get them later. Always good to see an old face again Col Smith. Was it that long ago now....my my how time flies."

And Bill how could I forget that night.....are you still writing to that nice girl with the large.....the ADC starts to cough politely. [;)]

The Field Marshal sits at a table in the Tavern with a few other Allied Officers, as the sweetness and soft melody permeate the Tavern, the Field Marshal puffs his cigar, quaffs his English Ale and says, "You know, I miss that ooompha band occassionally. I wish Eugene would come around more often."

"Well Sir Muddy you know what they say about what you wish for".........Eugène turns to his ADC "What do they say about what you wish for ????" The ADC whispers in the Marechals ear......"Do they ??" replies Eugène looking at his ADC with wide eyes. The ADC leans closer to Eugène and whispers again. " Oh that, right and I thought you said....never mind." With a wave of his silk handkerchief the Marechal turns once again to Sir Muddy. "Just for you my dear friend, just for you." With that the sound of the oomph band comes into the filling tavern......."For he's a jolly good fellow"

"What's more" shouts Eugène about the music " I think I may have a space on my dance card for you, if you feel up to a dance around a field somewhere?"

Sir Muddy beams with delight, "By George, I was hoping you would offer me a dance! But alas, my dear Prince, you have been away so long, I fear that you have not kept up with the latest dances. I only dance to the newer HPS titles. I no longer shuffle my feet for the older BG series. If you have kept up, then by all means, we should dance."

The FM lifts his ale in a salute and drains the tankard. "Helga, more for my table and bring something to suit Eugene's fancy; something syrupy and sweet I would presume."
