Gentlemen, I have the opportunity to be in the Lake Garda region of Northern Italy next month with a day to spare. Can anyone recommend any books about the campaigns in Italy, and/or any specific info about seeing the Rivoli and Arcola battlefields? I strongly suggest the following book: "The Defense of the Napoleonic Kingdom of Northern Italy, 1813-1814", By George F. Nafziger and Marco Gioannini. I received it today. I ordered it direclty by Nafziger from his site, here the link: http://home.fuse.net/nafziger/index.html Some of the major actions of the campaign took place in the Garda lake - Mincio river area.
