Post subject: | Graphics HPS Eckmuhl |
Gentlemen I am about to start a game of Eckmuhl and I note the latest patch has made the unit graphics a bit ugly. So I brought the old ones across from the CD and also brought in the Cobexlaw terrain graphics (just the 3d terrain ones). Does anyone know if this will work fine or will it cause problems with the game? Also can I assume my opponent will need to replicate these changes for it to work (if indeed it does). Now I find this kind of funny. That the unit graphics dont look as good as of this update. Because you see ... the date on the units.bmp file is ... 10/13/2002. Colin - we didnt change the unit graphics in this update. Its the same version that we have been using for many updates. I cant remember when they were updated but I do remember contributing a Bavarian horse artillery guy. Other than that its the same graphics from before. The Cobexlaw site has artwork you can use which is similar to what you had in the BG series. Another fellow did a pack but I cant remember where to find it. And funny enough you can find a pack at Glenn Saunder's Panzer Campaigns site. Here is the URL for that one: http://members.shaw.ca/gcsaunders/downloads4_VM.html Look toward the bottom of the page and you will find packs for NRC, EC (which will also work for WC) and Waterloo Campaign. Hey Bill No offense mate I love your work. But the units are smaller now like in NRC am I wrong on this?? I am referring to the 3d big view. When I brought them back from the cd they looked better. Maybe I'm losing it.....[:D] but I am pretty sure this changed when I ran the latest patch. Colin - hmm, not sure as I dont use the 3d view much. Thought you were talking about the Units.bmp file ... Maybe they were made smaller so that they fit in the hex better. As I recall the large 3D icons were not popular when Eckmuhl came out and were reduced in size with one of the very early patches - in 2001 I believe. So if Colin applied the latest (and cumulative) patch over a clean install then he would perhaps notice this change in icon size. <center>Lieutenant Colonel Antony Barlow ~ 2nd British (Union) Brigade, Anglo-Allied Cavalry Corps ~ ~ 4th (Royal Irish) Dragoon Guards ~ ![]() |
