Gents, I've just returned from Tiller Con II, and a great time was had by all. First and foremost, I have to throw a HUGE thanks out to Rich H, because it was through his work that all of this came together. It was a great event. For various reasons (mostly that they were more organized than us), the largest amount of gaming was in the PzC engine, however, there were some Nap games played as well. I took on Mike Cox at Linz and lost (as usual) but only as a minor [;)] which is unusual. Then we got a bit of a MP going at Lubina with Mike, Rich H and myself, as well as others as they came through, but we only made about 10-12 turns as memory serves. Still great fun. I did see a number of people putting around looking at various Nap titles, and had someone ask me for a recomendation of which game to get first (he said he liked small scenarios, so I pointed him at Eckmuhl). We had a good and free ranging discussion on the Nap engine that covered a large number of topics (see separate post), and I came out confident that we can look forward to both more games, as well as continued engine improvements. That said, the best part was still meeting all of these people I'd only typed at over the years, such as Rich, Mike, Mark Adams and probably others I'm forgetting. Yep, a good time was had. I did spend some time showing a couple people how to play Napoleonic, and there was a lot of interest, so can't be all that bad. I kept hoping Rich would slip when and what pearl was going to slip next for Nappy, but to no avail. I probably should have pried him away from manning the sales/info stand and had Tiina (with 2 i's) ply him with Boulevard beers, but I never think a plan through.... Marechal Michael Cox Principe della Toscana Comte de Moselle ![]() 2e battallion, 1er Regiment de Chasseurs a Pied, Inf. de l'V. I will be honest and say that I am hoping to put one out this year but you know ... I hate to put a game out that has errors. It happens to the worst of us (me) but still I dont want to get your hopes up with some pre-hype and then have to let you down with messages about delays. I will let you in on how I am doing my next title: 1. I am going to do up all of the files for the game. 2. Paco is my Playtest Coordinator and will get a sneak peak of the game when I finish all of the files. Based on his report I will then cut CDs for everyone else on the Team (to include Rich H.) 3. Playtesting will take anywhere from 3-5 months I am thinking. Rich H. will be able to add in comments as he desires. 4. Once I get back Paco's final report I will then look the game over for anything that may have been missed. Various artwork will roll in from Mike Avanzini. 5. The game goes to Mr. Tiller and Rich H. for final eval. Thus no longer will I send out a game to the testers just to get the show going. The reason is that there have been complaints in the past of too many updates during testing. Also - while they playtest my fourth title I will then work on the fifth title. And lay the groundwork for possibly a sixth or seventh I have in mind. Question: would you guys be dissappointed if a future title isnt QUITE as comprehensive as my earlier ones (with Jena really taking the cake for completeness)? The reason why I ask is that if I can put out say 120 scenarios for my fifth title then I can get to work on the sixth one that much faster. This one I am working on now will be a monster of a game. You can explect LOTS of extras. I figure that if ONE of my titles turns out a bit on the LIGHT side you wont kick too much (I hope). I note that with a Nap series title you get over 100 scenarios (and hundreds more in some of the titles). Several of our series have a light and heavy on number of scenarios (Squad Battles for instance). Frankly trying to put out 400 scenarios per title and then finding out that 200 of them never get played is dissappointing. I am going to center on the Historical ones being very balanced (or as well as can be expected). But I hope you dont lynch me if one of my games doesnt have 300 scenarios in it and 40 maps. ... Bill, thanks for asking. I would say first and foremost I appreciate any and all historical battles (and smaller skirmishes) to be included. Having Sacile and Piave in the 1809 games is a nice addition. In an 1814 game I would like to have all of the battles modeled, not just the ones Nappy was at, as an example. My second priority is an interesting, varied campaign that reflects the possibilities. What would have happened next if Charles had been able to trap and maul Davout at Eckmuhl? What would the next battle look like? That I like. I am less interested in the what ifs and rarely play them unless they provide a more balanced battle than the historical one. thanks, Feldmarschall Jim 'Prinz' Pfluecke Commander, Austrian Cavalry Reserve 3 Graf O'Reilly Chevauxleger Rgt Hahn Grenadier Bn |

I like the variety to be in the campaigns and would be fine with nothing more than individual historical scenarios. Let others do mods for the what ifs. I simply would love to see the entire period of the Napoleonic Wars covered even if just lightly first. This means we still need something from the Iberian Pen., 1813,14, 1805, and the early Italian Campaigns. After you finish that Bill, you'll need to get started on the revolutionary wars of course.[;)] Major General Ed Blackburn Commanding Second Div, II Corps, AAA 3rd Bn / 1st Regiment of Foot Guards ![]() |

I agree with Jim. More on the historical side and campagn options is great. Especially if you can throw in the varied choices the commanders had at the key phases (both strategic and tactical). Lt Col Mike Ellwood VII Saxon Corps, ADR |
