The guys over at GameSquad asked me to take advantage of their free Blogging site and start up an HPS Blog, so I have done so...you can find it here:

If any of you have ideas for content, or things you would like to see covered please let me know.

Regards,
Rich

I think that a good start would be to do a series of posts, with a fast overview of each of the series. Spread em out over 2-3 weeks (or more)

I think a good post would be to list all the new games being worked on but not yet released. [:D]

Why does everyone always want to know that HPS is working on a game about the barroom brawl at Bennies in Hoboken last Friday night?

Oh, wait, I wasn't supposed to say that, was I?

I personally think that HPS should have their own website and forums/blogs. Frankly I dont see much use for another forum/blog on our games. Its already fragmented as much as it is.

What we need Rich is an official forum. The problem with all of these other forums is that they move, the URLs change (witness SZO being moved to GameSquad and so on) and so on.

We need a one-place forum/FAQ center where folks know they can get information on the products. FAQs especially as we get the same old questions asked over an over again.

While I know that board game companies use Consim World I find it very confusing to find information on that venue.

Anyway, a big thanks to GameSquad for putting this up and I hope that our customers enjoy the format.

As for games I am working on: John asked me to do a title on the famous railroad chase about the General. Ernie is the conductor and potatoes are on the menu.

Dean,
The big thing about the SZO forum is simply to catch an audience that we don't get here.

That's one of the problems that we have, is that there isn't really a "centralized" hub for activity in HPS games. I know of three, and there may be more I'm misisng.

The www.wargame.ch cluster of clubs (that's us)
The Blitz
GameSquad (nee, SZO and a few other names)
Of course, for the Naps, there's also the other Club, Scott's club.

There is some overlap between the groups (I'm at GS and here, and at least for PzC, am registered for the Blitz), but overall, it means what community there is is kinda scattered. So, Rich's blog there would be to troll for fish that don't come into our lil cove here.

Exactly what Gary said, but also - assuming it goes as planned, I'll stop visiting all the forums to post announcements and just do it on the Blog...will be more central for me and less time consuming, and will give people a single place to check for details.

If you can pull that off Rich more power to you. Anything to give you a break from having to patrol every forum that supports our games.

I would say also if a person has a game question that they should address it over there as well. Keep game questions off of the club sites mainly and put them in a central location where we all know they will be addressed by you, Glenn or any one of the Designers. Glenn too has to do a bit of "trolling" to keep up on all of the questions and frankly it would be best to just have one local for all of it.

The Blog isn't meant to be a two way thing, even though people can post comments. Its not like a forum when back and forth discussions take place. Its meant to be a source of information and commentary.

For everyone reading this:

If you are looking for an official HPS response then problems should always be sent to Support at hpssims.com along with a game file when ever possible. This is the official path for problem resolution and the only way we can guarantee you will receive a response.

With that said, thanks to all the guys who have been around a long time and help resolve issues on the forums. If that works, then keep it up. [8D]

The Blogosphere is pretty vast and yet there is still roomo for more?

I suppose I could go to the blog for game related news and here for our club discussions.
