An Allied regimental band marches up the street and stops in front of the Tavern where they strike up the a victorious tune. A squad of horsemen from the 6th Innskilling Dragoons escort an obviously wearied and fatigued Field Marshal to the Tavern entrance. The Field Marshal dismounts his muddy horse and walks directly through the Tavern doors showing some embarrasment at all the attention and celebration.

A young lieutenant follows the Field Marshal to the bar. The patrons are staring in anticipation of an explanation for all the ruckus. Sir Muddy takes a long draught of ale but says nothing.

Finally, the young officer announces to the crowd: Sir Muddy has defeated another of Napoleon's Marechals. He has just returned from the fields of Belgium where after two days of intense fighting, he bested the French Armee du Nord led by the able and stout-hearted Maréchal John Mitchell, Grande Duc de Rivoli et Comte de Bordeaux, and Commandant Division Infanterie; La Veille Garde,105e Regiment d' Infantrie Ligne, 2e Brigade, 1er Division Infanterie, I Corp, AdN.

The Allied officers in the Tavern rise and cheer the victory and gather round. Sir Muddy heaves himself atop the bar and raises his glass. "I would like to salute my opponent, M. John Mitchel. He led his forces with great skill. It was not an easy thing--defeating him. Please join me in a toast to a great officer. Three cheers for Marechal Mitchell." Huzzah, Huzzah, Huzzah.

The bar is open for the rest of the evening -- on my tab my dear Helga.

Don't worry, my dear Colonel, I know a couple of french officers who beat Sir Muddy in the past. So far I know, Paco and Marechal Jensen got his sword. He is not invicible [}:)]

Anyway, Sir Muddy, all my congratulations for your victory. It was an hard fight, I'm sure, because your opponent is a very good one.
