Post subject: | Eckmuhl comment and game system question |
Hi folks ... Just played Eckmuhl for the first time since the latest upgrade. The changes to the movement factors really work well and force the player to think ahead. Question about the game system. Would it be possible to include a surrender feature? During the campaign I just completed (playing solitaire) there were numerous times when the remnants of Austrian units had to be surrounded and wiped out. Perhaps troops no longer in command that are cut off or fall below a certain strength and fatigue level should surrender instead of having to be mowed down. Other games have this feature (the Take Command civil war games). It would be a nice touch and reduce the horrendous unhistorical casualty rates. Thanks for the great games. I'm awaiting Jena and Chickamauga in the mail and looking forward to future titles. Marengo? The British in Spain?? Regards, CJ |

The new No Melee Elimination rule was added BECAUSE of the Surrenders. If you use the Isolation rule the units suffer more losses when Isolated. They dont surrender in the 15 min turn you attack them in but still lose alot more men than if you dont use the rule. We had entire brigades going bye-bye in one turn without the NME rule. Now its much nicer.
