My first impressions of this scenario. After completing it I'll update this post. I'd think a meeting engagement should feature some seperation of forces with centralised VP OBJs. This scenario is more a drawn out Allied attack. The Allies must maintain a superior casualty ratio while attacking different objectives that the French have greater access too. First side Allies, 0 starting VPs, 200 Major Defeat, 800 to Major Victory, map 1100 OBJ points. The deep fog (which last over 1/3rd scenario) maybe helpful to obscure where the Allies can concentrate but, if anything it just obstructs gameplay since neither side can have recon advantage in 3-5 hex visibility. That said the scenario may play very well but, as the Allied "attacker" I depend on a major French operational error. |

In playtesting the Allies were able to grab 500 of the objectives and hurt the French early on. Later on the French numbers made a difference. It ended as a Draw from what I remember. Not much I can do about the fog. That was the weather for that battle. Once it lifted then the battle could get underway. Makes for a great game of "Cat and Mouse." |
