Armeeschreiber
(Prussian Army News)

There is a lot of news to cover so I will start with the most recent.

Generallieutenant Robert Hamper has stepped down as Korpskommandeur of the I. ArmeeKorps.  He has been succeeded by Generallieutenant Simone Tombesi, formerly Kommandeur of the 3. Infanterie-Brigade.  Rob has provided many years of excellent service to the Armee and has done a lot for us. We thank him for his dedication and time. Rob will stay on as the Generalquartiermeister der Armee and as Kommandeur of the 4. Infanterie-Brigade.

Our Muster has ended earlier this month and the Armee is down to 18 officers, but we have a very dedicated Korps.  We will continue to do our best for the Armee and the club I am sure and may everyone continue in their battles and have fun.  If you don't have the time currently for battles that is no problem, take up a fight as and when you can.  It is no big deal for us.

With the Muster came a reorganization, no units were reassigned for anyone currently in the Armee, but we do have some empty Infanterie-Brigades, but looking at the club overall, everyone is heading towards downsizing, even those French.     With the promotion of Simone it left a vacancy in Command of the 3. Infanterie-Brigade.  Myself, GeneralMajor Scott Ludwig, formerly of the 2. Westfälisches Landwehr-Regiment, 2. Infanterie-Brigade was promoted into that Command.  I will e-mail my new Brigade as soon as I am done with this. Also, with the departure of Generallieutenant Iain Thompson, I was also promoted to the Aide-du-Camp of the I. ArmeeKorps.

Also joining is Clinton Hill and Adrian Marcks. Clinton has been assigned to the 24. Infanterie-Regiment and Adrian to 17. Westfälisches Landwehr-Kavallerie-Regiment.

First of all gaming comrades, best wishes for the New Year. I hope the coming months bring you good health and fortune as well as good gaming!

Leave of Abscence

The Army is sad to announce that Brett Schulte has decided to take some time off from gaming to recharge his batteries. Brett has been with us since January, 2001. He's been one of our most prolific players and we hope to see the Generalmajor again next year.

Gemusterte Rekruten
(New Recruits)

I'd like you all to welcome three new members to the Army:

Scott Ludwig who has transferred in from the KGL of the Anglo-Allied Army.

Bill Brockman, a new member to the NWClub.

And Dany Cohen who has rejoined us after a leave of abscence.

Scott will be leading the 2.Westfälisches Landwehr-Regiment of 2.Infanterie-Brigade vacated by Schulte.

Bill will take over the 24.Infanterie-Regiment of 1.Infanterie Brigade.

Dany will temporarily command the Brigade-Artillerie of 2.Infanterie-Brigade , until another unit opens up.

The Army is looking for the ranks of Major, OberstLt, and Oberst who might be interested in taking over a Brigade command. Slots will be filled on a first-come basis as well as a regard for the officer's activity in the Army.

New Game on the Horizon

Fellow Prussians be on the lookout for a new game in the coming year to be released by Matrix Games. It'll be an operational/strategic level game based on the 1806 campaigns as well as the 1813/campaigns. It'll be designed by Frank Hunter of Adanac command studies. I have a copy of the 1805/09 campaigns that Frank produced himself. It is a very realistic campaign game with emphasis on supply and fog-of-war. The graphics are a bit raw, but Matrix has promised to spruce up the whole engine. The General staff will discuss how the Prussian Army might incorporate it into our playing. Finally, some 1813 gaming!!

Officer Info Wanted

We'd like to expand on our Player-Officer info available at our HQ Website So, please drop the General Staff a little bio of yourself and possibly a picture and we'll get it published.

Korps Kommandeur

If there are any generals out there who would like to take a crack at the Kommandeur's position, I'd like to hear it. I've been here over a year I believe and I think it's time to pass the reins over to someone who is more active in the Army and the Club as a whole. Lead by example, right!?!. I'm staying with this fine group of player-officer's Army and I'll stay on as Korps leader if there are no volunteers, but keep it in mind if you feel you have something to offer. That's it for now! Send you comments to me at the address above. Happy gaming and much glory!!
